Today we started work. We split the group. Half are building tables and half are laying a concrete slab. Everyone worked hard and we got a lot done. There are photos on our Facebook group page - search for Shepparton Upwey Borneo World Challenge. We finished the day walking to the beach (2.6 k) and watched the sun set in the warm water. Beautiful. Then we had dinner at the beach restaurant. Good day. Lots of clothes washing currently being done. Still hot.

Our acclimatization trek was 3 days in the Crocker Ranges. It was tough. It is called World Challenge for a reason, It was hot, humid, steep and muddy and we got torrential rain every afternoon. Add in the challenges of sleeping in jungle hammocks, cooking on open fires in very wet conditions, carrying heavy packs etc. Everyone was challenged, everyone had to dig deep at different times, everyone had to support each other, and everyone came through and everyone made it to the end!!!!There was a lot of well earned pride in the group and a great sense of personal achievement after the trek.
We are at our project. It is a beautiful setting, genuine eco-lodge, very rustic. We are housed in small bamboo huts with a mattress and mozzie nets. The humidity is 100% - we need it to rain to clear the air. We will be leaving for dinner soon - we have to walk 2 km to the beach restaurant then get a ride back, We are going to be building a concrete slab for a local church kitchen and making some wooden tables, plus making some games for a fete.
