Today was a day of immersion in the local environment and community. In the morning our host Howard (who trains the military in jungle survival} took us on a tour of his land showing us all the medicinal and edible plants he had planted. Howard is trying to be ecologically responsible on his land and in his business as well as support the local Rungus people - he is British but married to a Rungus woman. The work he has done and continues to do is amazing. He is a very impressive man. In the afternoon we ran some games at the local church fete - the same church where we built the slab. Once again the local kids had a great time. "Handball the footy through Rudolph's nose" was particularly popular as was "Pin the beard on Santa" - both games our crew made. Then we did our daily walk to the beach for our swim and dinner - for the last time at The Tip Of Borneo. We have very much enjoyed our time here and made a good contribution plus learnt lots.
