We are having dinner after visiting the Deer Cave - a 3 km walk each way. It is fantastic!! One of the biggest caves in the world. Truly awe inspiring. It's enormous. Then afterwards we watched the 2 million bats leave the cave at sunset creating massive spirals and snakes in the sky. Absolutely amazing!!!! Since Wed we have been very adventurous. We were driven by 4wd to the middle of no where and stayed in a 270 m long longhouse, with 30 families. Next day we spent 3 hours in narrow long boats heading up the river to the start of the headhunters trail then walked 11 km in the pouring rain (but it was great rainforest. Lots of big trees). We took nearly 5 hours, carrying all our stuff. We stayed in a camp with dorms, padded mats, an eating shelter and proper toilets and showers. Luxury. Called Camp 5. The next day we walked 9 km and more long boats took us to the wind cave and Clearwater cave which were great. We had a swim in this beautiful natural pool too. Then the boats took us the the NP headquarters where we are staying for 3 nights in a hostel. We've now completed all our trekking with our packs and the rest of the trip looks pretty cruisy. Everyone is in good spirits!!! Tomorrow we ate doing a sky walk over the jungle canopy and having a relaxing day. Then the next day we fly to miri.
